Story
Will you support us as we lace up our running shoes and dedicate the whole of September to running every day and raising funds and awareness for a life-altering spinal condition, Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES).
Mehmooda Duke MBE DL and Asif Moosa pledge to run 300km between them, from 1st September 2023 – to 1st October 2023, supported by team MDS on rest days. That’s like running from Leicester to London and back (almost!).
CES is a rare but avoidable condition that affects the spinal cord, often resulting in severe disability. Champions Charity, founder Claire Thornber, a CES sufferer, has been raising awareness of this condition, supporting sufferers, working on promoting positive recoveries, and championing change in healthcare, ever since her diagnosis. This is a chance to make a difference in the lives of those battling CES. With every step, we aim to light up the path towards a better understanding, early diagnosis, and improved care for those affected by this condition.
An important part of the work being done by Mehmooda Duke and the team at Moosa-Duke Solicitors is to work with healthcare professionals and Trusts to make significant changes in healthcare including implementation of care pathways, work which has been ongoing since 2012.
Together, we can help to move towards a brighter future for CES patients and their families, and with every kilometre, making a significant impact.
Join us by sponsoring our run for a cause that truly matters. If you want to know more about CES, here is the link to the Champions Charity. https://www.championscharity.org.uk/
Look out for details of a community walk on 26th September 2023.
