About the Fire Fighters Charity
Clinical care. Personal wellbeing. Practical support. We’re here to help.
Fire Fighters Charity was born out of the devastating loss of 1,027 firefighters in the Second World War. For nearly 85 years, it has been our joy and privilege to specialise in healthcare and wellbeing support for the fire services community.
Today we are a national healthcare provider, working across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. While we work with all 52 Fire and Rescue Services in the UK, we are independent of any organisation and our funding is predominantly voluntary, fuelled by the generosity of our supporters.
Our care and support is confidential, free of charge and without judgement – always.
We deliver care through three residential centres in Devon, West Sussex and Cumbria, supported by an integrated digital service. Our registered psychological therapists, nurses, physiotherapists, exercise therapists and wellness coaches provide clinically expert care grounded in a deep understanding of service in the fire and rescue sector.
This work is supported by almost 200 employees and more than 1,000 volunteers across the UK.
