It is with great love and fondness that we honor the life of Champaba. In accordance with her wishes, this charity page has been created.

Champaba was deeply passionate about good vision, and it was always important for her to make a difference in the lives of others. With respect to her wishes, this page has been set up to contribute towards Sightsavers, a charity which helps protect people from avoidable blindness, including tackling diseases like trachoma, and saving the sight of people in need in TANZANIA.

Sightsavers's vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes and where visually impaired people participate equally in society.

Sightsavers believes everyone should be able to receive quality and affordable healthcare when they need it. The system needs trained workers, a reliable supply of medicine and equipment and adequate funding - this is where we come in. This will help support the delivery of sight saving examinations and surgeries in Tanzania with new equipment. Sightsavers work in partnership with Neglected Tropical Diseases Control Programme- Ministry of Health and the country's national trachoma partners, including the Lindi Regional Health Authority.

The donation will help purchase:

- Operating microscope needed for eye surgeries

- Brightness scanner (ultrasound equipment) to evaluate the eye's structure and detect abnormalities

- Portable Keratometer which determines a patient's astigmatism and corneal power and is also used in refractive surgery

- Fundus camera for diagnosing retinal vasular disorders and glaucoma

- Specialist lenses frames and ancillary equipment

This equipment will be purchased locally by Sightsavers in Tanzania in agreement with Lindi Regional Health Authority to be used where it is needed most.
