Chantal's fundraiser for Crisis

I’m thrilled (and slightly terrified) to announce that I’ll be taking on an epic 100km trek across the Sahara Desert! Yes, you read that right—me, the person who hates camping, despises the sun, and would rather do literally anything than deal with sand!! But I’m doing this because it's for an incredible cause and to raise vital funds for Crisis, the national charity working to end homelessness.
I have pledged to raise £4,000 all of which will go directly to Crisis. In November, over five days, I’ll be hiking up to eight hours a day in blistering heat, shivering through chilly nights, and sharing a tent with strangers—because apparently, personal space is a luxury I won’t have. And let’s not forget the endless amounts of sand. So much sand.
I’m doing this alongside 90 colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group, to support Crisis in providing housing, support, and hope to those experiencing homelessness.
Bonus Suffering: In June as a warm-up (or cruel joke?), I’ll also be walking 12 miles around Chester, which will almost be like the Sahara—except with more pubs and fewer camels.
Why Crisis?
Because no one should be without a safe place to call home. Crisis helps people rebuild their lives through housing, education, and employment support, and that’s something worth trekking through literal hell (aka, the desert) for.
How You Can Help
Please consider donating—every pound counts! Whether it’s the cost of a coffee, a cold drink I’ll be desperately dreaming about mid-trek, or a full-blown meal that isn’t dehydrated food in a bag, your support makes a difference.
Thank you so much—and please pray I don’t get swallowed by a sand dune.
