Story
Swimming has always been a huge part of our lives, starting at Swindon Dolphins at the age of 3. Our dad, Alex, who was our biggest supporter, would drive us to training sessions at least 4 times a week, many of them starting at 5am! He believed that one day we would make it to the Olympics.
When we were 9 and 11 years old, everything changed. While away on a swimming training camp on the Isle Of Wight, we were called home to be told our dad had been diagnosed with leukemia and that he only had a few days to live. With an incredibly supportive family, prayer, and our mums relentless care for him, he went in to remission, giving us some more precious time with him.
Sadly the cancer returned and we lost him on 29th May 2006
This swim is for him. For his dedication and belief in us. For every early morning, every lift to training. For his endless encouragement and love for the sport that shaped our lives. We are swimming in his memory and for every child that deserves to feel safe in the water
