Frankie’s fundraiser for Third Hope

10k bike ride
Hi, I’m Frankie Craig! Over the summer, I underwent two surgeries due to an unexpected infection in my hip called septic arthritis, which came out of nowhere! As someone who is normally very active and involved in sports, it has been challenging to go from playing so much to not being able to do anything at all. I’ve been out of sports now since August, and I won’t be able to participate in any activities until June or July—almost a whole year!
At my school, Habs Boys, we believe that charity work is crucial and we take part in a challenge headed by Mr Hardman called the £1 challenge. This is something I thoroughly enjoy being involved in and I wasn’t going to let my issues hold me back from taking part! So I set myself a challenge to ride 10k
which is a significantly difficult task for me given my situation at the moment!
Last weekend, I did it! I completed my first big cycle since surgery covering just under 14k in one hour with my Dad.
The charity we are supporting is Third Hope, a charity dedicated to addressing the injustice of child soldiers. Supporting this cause is incredibly important to me as a young person because it highlights the struggles that many children face in conflict zones, often being deprived of their childhood and forced into violence. It’s crucial that we stand up for these vulnerable individuals and help provide them with the support and opportunities they deserve. Any donations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your support!
