Story
Hi everybody. On Sunday 6th December I'm taking part in my 2nd Hyrox race and thought I'd use it to raise money for my wonderful Harmonic Sisters.
For those who don't know, Hyrox is a hybrid fitness race consisting of 8 1km runs with 8 functional fitness stations in between. Very high energy, very intense, but so much fun.
Why am I doing this? Well, I have a speech impediment and at it's worst, I cannot speak at all. In January this year, I joined a 4 week Love To Sing course with Welwyn Harmony. I took to this like a duck to water and after the 4 weeks, did a mini performance in front of friends and family. At this performance, I was able to sing freely for the whole thing and it was like my speech impediment disappeared. After the last long, I cried and my family and friends cried. I was at my wits end with not being to speak, the freedom singing with these ladies brings me has been amazing.
I enjoyed the course so much Ive basically been there every Tuesday since, joining the Bass section to make wonderful harmonies.
Ive set the target to £201 as my max heart rate went up to 201 at my last Hyrox 😂 my last finish time was 2:13, this time round I'm hoping for 2 hours or less 🔥🔥
Every little bit you can spare will help our wonderful choir in spreading the word around the local community and showing people what we do. I'd never heard of barbershop sing
