Story
I am taking part in the Hospice’s 160ft Bungee Jump on Sunday the 28th of July to help raise funds for the Hospice.
The Hospice is a very special place for my family. My Gran Sheila was a patient in the Hospice for 4 weeks and the care she and my family received was incredible. We got to spend precious days with her and made lasting memories that wouldn’t have been possible had she been in hospital or at home. Our dog Penny loved her Gran too and would run down the ward into her room and jump onto her bed for a cuddle.
I would like to raise as much money as possible for the Hospice in memory of my Gran who I miss everyday.
The Hospice means so much to us that my Mum Patricia, started working there almost 3 years ago as she wanted to be part of an incredible team of staff who go beyond every single day to care for patients and their families.
It is well publicised all over the country how much Hospice’s are struggling financially. They are increasingly becoming dependent more and more on donations and the income generated from fundraising events.
With your kind support we can help them continue their mission to provide the wonderful care to all patients and support for their families. Any contribution, no matter how large or small makes a difference and would be gratefully appreciated.
St. Andrew’s Hospice endeavours to provide a high standard of specialist palliative care to the people of Lanarkshire, encompassing human dignity and compassion. As Lanarkshire's only specialist palliative care hospice, we provide multidisciplinary support for our patients, their families and carers. Whilst we receive funding from NHS Lanarkshire and other sources, this only partially covers our running costs. Continued provision of these services is only made possible by the generosity and assistance of the people of Lanarkshire.
