Story
On the 17th of August 2024, we're going to be running a Marathon across Norfolk. For some, this is their first Marathon and we're looking to try and raise as much money for charity as possible.
The charity we're raising for is The Samaritans. The Samaritans offer a critical lifeline for those struggling with mental health issues, providing confidential support 24/7. Their work prevents countless suicides and offers hope to people in their darkest moments. Every donation helps them continue their vital work, ensuring they can be there for anyone who needs them, at any time.
For every £1 donated to Samaritans and its branches in the UK and Ireland, 80p goes on our services and just 20p is invested in raising the next £1. To give you an idea of how much it costs to run our services, £10 will cover the cost of 2 calls to our helpline from people struggling to cope, £96 could train and support an existing Samaritans volunteer for a whole year, and a donation of £500 could keep our phone lines open for one hour.
By supporting us, you're not just encouraging us through every mile of our marathon, but you're also contributing to a cause that makes a real difference. Every penny you donate goes directly to the Samaritans, helping them to continue their invaluable work.
Please consider donating and supporting our marathon run. Together, we can help the Samaritans be there for more people in need.
Thanks for your generosity and support!
