Story

Charity's story:

This June, six determined men are taking on an incredible challenge to raise vital funds for Candlelighters Children's Cancer Charity. They’ll be cycling an epic 600 miles along the breath-taking Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, tackling 30,000 feet of climbs over the course of six days.

From Mizen Head in the south to Malin Head in the Inishowen Peninsula in the north, this ride will push the riders to their limits physically and mentally. But they’re not doing it for personal glory—they’re riding to support Candlelighters, a charity that provides essential support to children and families who are battling childhood cancer all over Yorkshire.

Our Goal:

We aim to raise £20,000 for Candlelighters, and we need your help to get there! Every penny raised will go directly to the charity, helping to fund its crucial services, which include emotional, practical, and financial support for families going through the unimaginable.

Meet the Riders:

Miles Dewhurst – Owner and CEO of Yorkshire Spa Retreat

Ed Dewhurst – Miles’ son, taking on this challenge to support the cause

Gary Molloy – CEO of Leisure Resorts

James Gourlay – Managing Director at Leisure Park Solutions

Andy Mair – A passionate supporter of Candlelighters, driven by a desire to make a difference

Derek Beaumont - Owner AB Sundecks Ltd and Leigh Leopards Super League Club.
