On Friday 9th June, 8 Accenture employees (Ben, Ed, Gemma, Jonny, Josh, Martin, Ollie, Tim) are taking on the huge challenge of cycling from London to Paris, a total distance of 290km, with the added pressure of aiming to complete this in under 24 hours.

They will be cycling down through Surrey to Newhaven, crossing the Channel whilst attempting to fit in a few hours of sleep on the ferry, before arriving in Dieppe (at ~4.30am) and counting down the remaining 200 kilometers cycling through rural Northern France, before arriving at the Arc de Triomphe for a few celebratory beverages and what will be a much needed lie down.

This challenge is being attempted to raise money for the UK & Ireland Sustainability Hub's Charity Connect Team, an initiative for employees to both volunteer for a range of community-driven and national campaigns, as well as raising money for our annually chosen charity.

This year, the charity chosen is Mind.

Mind is a mental health charity in England and Wales, offering information and advice to people with mental health problems and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf. It also works to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health.

With 1 in 4 people suffering from mental health issues in their day to lives, too many people continue to suffer without seeking the right support. Mind aims to promote the education and support of mental health issues across all age groups.
