Story
Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with Sue Ryder's support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. They are there when it matters.
I am a healthcare assistant on the inpatient unit at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court. Our expert medical and nursing team, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and our wellbeing and spiritual support team provide palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses, including caring for people and their loved ones at the very end of life.
We also have an incredible Hospice at Home service based at Leckhampton Court who can provide end-of-life care to people in their own homes.
What many people don't realise is that Sue Ryder is the only hospice with inpatient beds in Gloucestershire, and we rely on charity fundraising to be able to provide the services that people here and elsewhere in the county depend on.
In support of Sue Ryder, I am holding a charity gig at Uley Village Hall, The Street, Uley, GL11 5SJ. Local band, Cat Amongst The Pigeons, and some special guests will be raising the roof with their eclectic mix of folk, rock and indie inspired music. Uley Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available at the bar and there'll be a raffle on the night.
Entry is free but all donations will be gratefully received . Please dig deep for this very worthy cause.
