Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Jenna and I wanted to raise money for the Ralph Bates PC Research fund because it is associated with Dr Shivan Sivakumar. Shiv has a message here: 'I have been recruited by the University of Birmingham as an associate professor. I now practice at the QE which is the second largest hospital in the UK and probably has the most comprehensive pancreatic cancer clinical service in the country. We are in the process of developing a comprehensive translational research programme. Key strategies include drug development, basic biology of the tumour microenvironment, early diagnosis and clinical pathway optimisation. The support you are all offering is critical to make this a success and I am eternally grateful'

It was Shiv who gave Tim a chance to try some breakthrough treatment to extend his life. He did the same for another friend of mine who was also a victim of PC, Martin Gillott. Sadly, neither Tim nor Martin were able to take part in the trial due to complications.
