On Sunday 12th April I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of my dad, Brian.

Dad died in January 2012 from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

PSP is a neurological condition that affects movement, balance, speech, vision and swallowing. Currently, there is no cure for PSP, and as the name of the condition suggests, the symptoms continue to progressively deteriorate over time.

My Dad, a fit and healthy man, was diagnosed in his early 50s and passed away shortly before his 60th birthday. PSP denied my dad of enjoying a retirement, and looking forward to all the big occasions that comes with family life, like meeting his grandchildren.

PSPA is the only charity dedicated to people affected by PSP and a similar condition called CBD.

Although I have inherited a love for playing football from my dad, I am not a natural runner! Having not run any considerable distance since being at school... it has been a challenge to get my trainers on in the dark January evenings after a long day at work or to get out early on a Sunday morning!

However, I am committed to running the distance and would really appreciate your support in raising some money for PSPA in the process.
