Jump for Joy. Charles's fundraiser for Alzheimer's Research UK

Charles WYLIE is raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK
Celebrating the birthday of Charles Wylie
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We’re striving for a cure, by revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.

Story

Jean has been coping with Alzheimer’s for eleven years. It is a heart-breaking disease, making the victim’s existence more and more distressing, and impacting family and friends. Rather than receive any gifts for my birthday I ask you to sponsor my Jumps for Joy - a tandem parachute jump with the Red Devils (90th), rowing with HMS OARDACIOUS (91st), and abseiling the Spinnaker Tower (92nd).

Although your gift will not benefit Jean, it will help to give future generations freedom from the same ordeal. It is forecast that 50% of the population will be affected by Alzheimer’s, either as victims or carers. That’s half of our loved ones, half of our friends, half of the human race. Is that you, a loved one, a friend? It’s a horrible thought. Please be as generous as you feel you can be, and help to rid mankind of this terrible affliction.

If you can, please pass this on on any medium. Let’s reach the world. We’ve smashed the £10K target and the £30K target and now we’re on our way to £50K. Gift Aid has taken us over £37,000. Bless you for your generosity. The free fall of 45 secs from 12,000 feet meant the chute opened at about 8,000, when I sang for Jean: ‘I’m on the top of the world, looking down on creation.’ Jean approved. YeeeeHa‼️

Charles.

The Royal Marines won’t let me do part of their assault course next year, and wing-walking was banned because I have high blood pressure. A friend suggested an armchair and a decent claret, so I’ve gone into daily training for that. Any other ideas, please?
