Story
This summer, 8 year old Charlie will be taking on the 112km / 70 mile coastal path of the Isle of Wight, running around the whole island.
Starting in June, Charlie will take on this challenge in sections aiming to cover 15-16km per day, travelling over to the island from the mainland in 2 day stages.
Charlie has already begun planning this multi-stage expedition, writing a (limited!) kit list, analysing the coastal route and how to use ferry and bus links to return to the points where he finishes each stage.
Given how much our family enjoys living on the coast and playing on, in and beside the sea, Charlie has chosen to try to raise funds for the RNLI charity.
RNLI lifesavers work tirelessly to keep us safe along the nation's coastline. The lifeboat crews provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland and the lifeguards keep watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands.
Your donation would be so appreciated by both Charlie and the RNLI! Thank you. If you wish to follow Charlie's journey, you can do so via his Instagram page: @charliesiowchallenge
