Story
On 3rd March 2026, my wife Siobhan and I devastatingly lost our identical twin boys Declan James and Niall Jack Conlan at 26 weeks and 3 days. Nothing could have prepared us for the moment we saw two individual heart beats on a monitor, knowing our family was doubling in size. We've thought of nothing but their love ever since and we were so excited to see what amazing lads they would have grown up to become.
Just over a year after our boys were born sleeping, I hope to complete the London Marathon to raise as much money as possible for Footprints, a dedicated Twin and Triplet baby loss charity that provided Siobhan and I with vital support as we dealt with the worst possible heart-break. Running a mile for every week I knew my boys will be an incredible way to honour their memory. Little by Little, Every Mile for Declan and Niall.
“And even though our hearts are currently filled with pain,
There will always be a place for you, where eternally you’ll remain,
Every time we think of you we’ll try not to cry, but smile,
You will always be our beautiful twins; our Declan and our Niall”
