I am raising money for muscular dystrophy research, in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK charity. This is because this disease is close to mine and my families hearts. I have two cousins, who are bothers, who both suffer with Beckers Muscular Dystrophy.

Max, the oldest, had to have a full heart transplant due to the disease and in the process of hospilisation was resussetated mutliple times. But is now living a happy life over 10 years on. Sam, as of writting has just been discharged from his 160 day hospital stay following a heart transplant just before christmas.

Both my cousins not only have now had to have major surgury to save their lives but also have to live everyday with their body degrading their muscles. This means that stuff like dogs walks and sports are either impossible or much more exhausting for them.

I therefore want to raise money to find a cure so families and individuals don't have to go through what Max and Sam have had to go through.

Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and in many cases, it limits lives. Muscular Dystrophy UK do vital work in funding pioneering research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions.
