Victoria Half Marathon

Meningitis Research Foundation is a charity driven by a passionate mission to prevent the devastating impact of meningitis. Founded by individuals whose lives were profoundly affected by meningitis, we are dedicated to enabling positive change by uniting people and knowledge to save lives.

Story

On 9th November it will be 5 years since my good friend Graham passed away. To mark the 5th anniversary, and to continue raising money for a charity so close to my heart, Meningitis Research Foundation, I (will be running the Victoria Park Half Marathon on the 10th November. A group of Graham's loved ones and friends will also be running.

For those of you who don't know, Graham suddenly passed away from a rare strain of Meningitis at the age of 20. He passed away within hours, despite being vaccinated and not showing any usual Meningitis symptoms. Graham was the most selfless person I knew, even at the age of 20 he registered (twice!) to be an Organ Donor, saving 6 people's lives even after he passed away. He was an amazing person and is so sorely missed.

A few years ago, 40 of Graham's loved ones and I, ran a half marathon we raised over £21,000 for MRF. This was incredible and made such a big difference to the charity.

I really appreciate any donations as it all makes a difference; in the hope that what happened to Graham never happens to anyone else.

Thankyou very much
