Story
Hello!!
On Sunday the 7th of April I'll be running the Brighton Marathon on behalf of my absolute favourite charity, the marvellous St Joseph's Hospice in Hackney.
Having already run the Royal Parks Half (which was horrible) and grown a tremendous handle-bar moustache (remarkably even more horrible than the Half), I'll be completing a perfect fundraising hat-trick on the sweaty south coast.
So many of you have already been incredibly generous, and I really can't thank you all enough. But! It would be amazing to smash my new fundraising target, and raise some more vital funds for St Joseph's Hospice.
St Joseph's offers staggeringly good free and accessible services to those that need them most in East London. I've set my target at £650, as it can pay for St Joseph's to pay for a patient to stay overnight at the Hospice, including the cost of the all services that would be available such as nursing, complementary therapies, and catering. - I hope that show's just how important your donations are, especially when considered that St Joes operates in some of London's poorest and most diverse boroughs.
In case you're wondering, no that isn't the real world cup in my photo, it's just the only semi-acceptable picture I have of the killer tache, which also happily features one of East London's oldest and most beloved institutions, St Joseph's.
This run has become my entire personality over the past few months, which has been fun for exactly zero people. Please help make my time being the most boring and ache-ridden berk worthwhile, by dropping a few pennies my way, all in support of St Joseph's.
Thank you all, and assuming I don't leave my soul in Sussex, I'll be seeing you soon!
Thanks a lot for all the donations and words of encouragement, Charlie x
St Joseph’s Hospice opened in Hackney in 1905, and since then has been caring for and supporting people affected by serious illness in eight London boroughs. We work to improve the quality of life of more than 2,100 patients with life-limiting conditions each year, helping them live life to the full, to the very last.
We have to raise £16,000 each day to keep our vital services running and available to the 2.2 million people in our diverse community, so every penny raised for our hospice is really important, and very much appreciated.
