Story
In 2019, my Gramps died after a three year battle with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is treatable so long as it is caught early, but there is no effective test available that could be used as part of a national screening programme to help prevent more men dying from this disease. I'm raising money for the Bob Willis Fund - formed in memory of the former England cricket captain who died with prostate cancer - who are funding research to find an accurate screening test to help the 1 in 8 men who are diagnosed with the disease get treatment early enough to prevent them from dying.
On Saturday 17th August, I'll be running the York Kids Triathlon, incorporating a 150m swim, 4km bike ride and a 2.5km run. I'd be really grateful if you would sponsor me to help boost me around the course, which I'll be doing in memory of Gramps.
