Charlie's fundraiser for Acorns Children's Hospice Trust

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I became familiar with the work Acorns do when a friend experienced the worst thing any parent could imagine and that was losing his child, Logan.
I wanted Matt to tell you about his experience with Acorns.
“Acorns Childrens Hospice had been incredible in their support of our son Logan and then our family, from diagnosis until joining the stars it was cruel and torturous and he was taken far to quickly we were desperate, devistated and destroyed.
Acorns supported Logan and did what ever they could to make his time better and more comfortable on this earth from Acorns nurses to support workers, fun days and activities anything to make his last few months enjoyable to make him smile, even after his passing they gave us a safe space to be with him to say goodbye until we were ready. Acorns supported our family through it's darkest time and still today provide love and care to our family.
I hope with all my heart that no parent suffers the loss of a child, but unfortunately although we dont want to think about it, there are so many more children losing their lives and the support and care is needed. Acorns needs these funds to continue their work to support more children and families.”
A parent never imagines their child will be diagnosed with a life limiting or life threatening condition. But when the unimaginable happens, Acorns Children’s Hospice steps in, helping families cope at every stage of their child’s life and beyond, wherever and whenever they need it. Their dedicated teams provide specialist palliative care for babies, children and young people, and support for their families.
To raise vital funds for Acorns Children's Hospice, I'm taking on the TCS London Marathon 2025!
