Earlier this year, my friend and colleague Emma Britton was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She’s never smoked in her 51 years - in fact it’s a genetic disease which is manageable, but not curable.

Emma was a huge part of my journey into the radio industry, and I’m sure I wouldn’t be where I am without her help and encouragement.

I was already planning to cycle from London to Paris with four friends, so admittedly fundraising for the charity which helped Emma was a bit of an afterthought. ALK Positive UK helped her connect with other people with the disease and understand more about what it is.

I am not expecting to raise much and I know times are very tight, but anything you can give will be hugely appreciated and help spur me on to the Arc de Triomphe.
