Charlie’s Runs For One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire

Charlie Walden is raising money for One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire CIO
In memory of Scott Akester

Four Day Run in Greater Manchester · 8 July 2025

We set up our charity in memory of our son Scott Akester who was killed by a One Punch attack in November 22. We are raising awareness on the risks, delivering educational talks and supporting victims and families who have been a victim of an attack or been impacted by a One Punch attack/death.

Story

As many of you know, I was due to take on the challenge of walking from Manchester to London for charity. Unfortunately, due to some last-minute changes and being let down by the person I was meant to be doing it with, the logistics have become too difficult to pull together in time with just a month to go.

But I’m not backing down.

Instead, I’m taking on something even tougher (and well outside my comfort zone):

➡️ Day 1 – 5K

➡️ Day 2 – 10K

➡️ Day 3 – Half Marathon

➡️ Day 4 – Full Marathon

That’s four days, four increasing distances, ending with a full marathon – something I’ve never done before.

I still want to raise as much as possible for One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire and I hope you’ll get behind this new challenge the same way you did the original one. The goal remains the same – push myself physically and mentally to support a cause I care deeply about
