ACAA was established in 2001 by Dr. Nooralhaq Nasimi, who left Afghanistan as a refugee with his young family in 1999 and made the UK his home. The ACAA promotes integration and wellbeing of refugees in the UK, in addition to running humanitarian and human rights projects in Afghanistan itself.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I will be running the Great Wall Marathon 2024 on behalf of the Afghanistan & Central Asian Association (ACAA), a charity I used to work for before moving out to China.

ACAA run a wide range of projects in the UK, all aimed at protecting and empowering refugees and migrants in the UK. Their projects aim to help people to reach their potential through education, skills and knowledge and access to mainstream services.

This is me back in 2019, and as you can see I enjoyed my time working there thoroughly. This was mainly down to the people I would encounter upon day in day out, my team mates and the beneficiaries. There still remains a great need for organisations like the ACAA in the UK to support the communities around them.

Having seen the impact of these projects first hand, and how hard the ACAA team work to deliver the critical support they do, I am aiming to raise as much money as possible to contribute to their work. Please do check out their work here:

Their services and aid are crucial to the lives of refugees and migrants in the UK and in order to continue with the work they do they need the help of the public. Donating towards helping the ACAA deliver their services to beneficiaries within the UK could be life changing to those in need. All of their services are free, and no one is turned away at centres. The team have worked tirelessly to grow and open up multiple offices and centres within and around the UK so that their services can reach those most in need.

Many thanks in advance!
