Story
Welcome to my TCS London Marathon #TeamHDA fundraising page.
I will be taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon to help us support people living with Huntington's disease in England and Wales.
For as long as I can remember, Huntington’s disease has been part of my life.
As a little boy, I watched my Nan slowly lose her battle with this cruel disease. Years later, I’ve watched my mum, Sarah, walk the very same heart-breaking path. Huntington’s doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed – it slowly changes an entire family.
Like every child of someone with Huntington’s disease, I’ve grown up knowing there’s a 50% chance that one day it could be my future too. It’s a thought that’s never far away.
When my wife and I decided to start a family, we faced a decision no young couple should ever have to make. We chose to go through IVF with pre-implantation genetic testing to give our children a future free from Huntington’s disease. It wasn’t an easy journey. There were failed cycles, heart-breaking setbacks, and moments when it felt like our dream might never happen. But we kept going.
Today, because of that fight, our beautiful son Beau will never inherit Huntington’s disease. Whatever my own future holds, the disease ends with him.
On 25th April 2027, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon for the Huntington’s Disease Association.
I’ll be running for my Nan.
I’ll be running for my Mum.
I’ll be running for every family living with Huntington’s disease.
And I’ll be running for a future where no child has to grow up watching the people they love disappear, or wondering if they’re next.
If you’re able to support me, no matter how big or small the donation, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every pound raised will help the Huntington’s Disease Association continue their vital work supporting families like mine and funding hope for the future.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you for being part of this journey
