One Man. One Mission. Southampton → London Eye for Men’s Mental Health

Charlie Darling is raising money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

London Eye – 3 marathons in 3 days for men’s mental health (CALM) · 22 January 2026

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

My name is Charlie, and I’m taking on the biggest challenge of my life completely on my own.

I will be running from Southampton all the way to the London Eye, covering just over 80 miles across multiple days, to raise money and awareness for men’s mental health with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

What started as a two-man challenge has now become a solo mission, but I’m still doing it — because the cause matters more than the fear.

Every week in the UK, 125 men die by suicide.

Too many lads stay silent, and too many feel like they’re fighting their battles alone. I’ve seen friends struggle. I’ve struggled myself. And I don’t want anyone to feel like they have to deal with things in silence.

This run is about showing that you don’t have to be an athlete to make a difference, and that even one person can take a stand and inspire others.

I’m not a professional runner.

I’m just a normal bloke pushing himself past what he thought was possible to shine a light on something that is affecting families every single day.

I’ll be documenting every step, every struggle and every mile — and I’ll keep going no matter how hard it gets, because too many people don’t get the chance to keep going.

If you are able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world.

Your support will help CALM continue their life-saving work — offering a helpline, supporting men in crisis, and fighting to reduce the number of lives lost.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for helping me make a difference.

Southampton → London Eye. One run. One man. One purpose.
