Story
Last year my wonderful husband Andi Ayres sadly passed away aged 46. Over the last year myself and our three children have had to navigate a new normal and learn to live without him.
Following his death, we raised money for the charity Simon Says through Andi’s Much Loved page. This is a charity which supports young people who have a significant person in their life who has died or is dying and it felt meaningful to us, particularly as it is a local charity.
At the start of this year I signed up for a 10k run at Longleat as it was on my birthday and I thought it would be fun to do! Following this, it got me thinking about challenging myself to do a 10k run a month for the year and then I thought about doing it for charity. Since then, I’ve completed the Winchester 10k in Feb, Eastleigh 10k in March, Froyle 10k in April and Southampton 10k in May. I have the Exbury Gardens 10k coming up in June. My good friend Scott Chapman has also joined me in my mission to complete a 10k a month for the year.
I would love to raise more money for Simon Says as this is such an important charity in supporting young people facing very difficult times in their lives.
