Story

We are delighted to have been asked to join Supporting Wounded Veterans (SWV) again as returning buddies. Many of you will know this is a charity very close to our hearts having witnessed the incredible impact and seen first hand how this week really does change the course and lives of veterans.

With family members still serving in the armed forces, many of us are only too aware of the impact of the sacrifice and acts of service our brave service women and men undertake. We hope to once again provide a vital support role to the veterans chosen for this year’s rehabilitation week.

SWV helps wounded veterans regain their independence through skiing. Since 2012, SWV has helped hundreds of veterans back into meaningful employment or occupation.

In March 2027, 25 veterans will take to the slopes to build their confidence and restore their self-belief. With challenge and camaraderie they are empowered to successfully transition to civilian life.

On their return home from the mountains, veterans are supported by a mentor and the SWV employment, training and occupation team to consider and plan their professional and personal goals outside of military life.

Last year, 1,875 UK regular armed forces personnel were medically discharged, representing approximately five per day, so please do give generously.

Many thanks
