Story

Fireworks is a Staffordshire based charity who work in primary and secondary schools, supporting young people in their mental and emotional health through singing, signing and mindfulness.

In May 2022, Charlotte lost her husband, Dave Birch, to suicide.

He was a much loved member of his local community. Dave was a big believer in looking after our mental health, he was someone who knew the importance of checking in on friends and family and talking openly about mental health. Firework's wanted to do something positive out of an incredibly sad situation and let his legacy live on in his local area.

In his memory, the charity have written a Grief Journal for Children. They wanted to do this to provide support for children who have experienced the loss of a person close to them. The journals are a place for children to remember their loved one, express their emotions and process their loss.

Charlotte Birch and Dave Westhead are both members of the Chase Harriers running club. It is Charlotte's first marathon and with Dave supporting her with training and running it with her, they both wanted to make it memorable by raising funds for Fireworks. Please donate what you can, thank you.
