Story
On 26th April I will be running the London Marathon with my wonderful Slade Fitness Team to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of two incredibly special people - my wonderful step-dad and best friend, Chris and my beautiful Auntie Andrea, who we sadly lost to cancer.
Cancer affects 1 in 2 of us and watching two people I love so deeply go through the pain and suffering that they did was truly heartbreaking. No family should have to face something like that alone, which is why the work Macmillan does is so incredibly important. They provide vital support, care and guidance for people living with cancer and for the families standing beside them through the hardest of times. The compassion and strength they give to so many people is truly extraordinary.
Running a marathon is completely out of my comfort zone, but I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to do it for such an important cause. Every mile I run will be for Chris and Andrea. They were both such strong, inspiring people and they taught me the importance of resilience, courage and never giving up when life gets tough. I will carry their strength with me every step of the way.
If you are able to support me by donating, it would mean the world to me. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps Macmillan continue the incredible work they do for people and families facing cancer.
Please help me honour Chris and Andrea by supporting this amazing charity. Any donation, big or small, will make a real difference and will help ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support and generosity - it truly means more than I can say.
