Save the Children exists to help every child reach their full potential. In the UK and around the world, we make sure children stay safe, healthy and keep learning, so they can become who they want to be. Your donation will help vulnerable children wherever the need is greatest.

Story

I am pushing myself this summer to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, after I will complete a month as a student doctor in the paediatrics department at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Moshi, Tanzania.

I am hoping to use this as a way to raise as much money as I can to support the incredible charity, Save the Children. All children deserve to grow up with access to shelter, education and healthcare, free from the torments of war and famine. Save the Children are committed to defending these rights, but also to advocating for real change.

In light of so many crises that are currently happening across the globe: Sudan, Gaza, Ukraine, to name a few; millions of children are needlessly bearing the brunt of such unimaginable horrors. No matter your political leanings, or personal affiliations, it can be unanimously agreed that no child, anywhere, deserves to endure such hardship whilst the rest of the world turns a blind eye.

I have set a high goal of £3000 as this is a cause incredibly close to my heart. It has been such a privilege, over the last 13 years of my life, to be given the gift of taking care of so many wonderful children. Their boundless optimism, creativity, light and potential is so incredibly precious, I will never doubt what a gift it has been to see so many of them grow to be the most wonderful young adults. I am hoping now to embolden the incredible network of people I have encountered over the years, to come together and support me in fundraising for a charity like Save the Children, so that we can try to protect the future of so many children across the globe.

All of those little dots out there represent our future. I hope in the long term, to devote my career as a doctor to nurturing as many young lives, so full of potential, as I can. But for now, this is the best I can do.

In an age where society is often so polarised, division is rife and hope for a better world is so very scarce, I hope this personal challenge can inspire the generosity of people far and wide to come together and do our best to combat the cycle of suffering so many children are currently facing.

I appreciate every single penny anybody, anywhere can donate. I will be posting as many updates as I can to this page. The summit is currently scheduled for 6 July 2025 - 13 July 2025 and I am just entering month 6 of my training.

I hope you can join me in supporting Save the Children, to try and give every child the chance of a future they deserve.
