Story
Can't believe I'm going to throw myself out of a perfectly good airplane... crazy, even mad maybe... but here's why...
I started working for The Rainbow Centre a little over 3 months ago, from the moment I walked through the doors I knew straight away I was joining something special.
Not having heard of Conductive Education (CE) till then, I've been absolutely blown away by the magnitude of what our Conductor's do for those with neurological conditions and their families. We support children from as early as just a few months old right through to adults in their 80's enabling them to live with greater independence following a diagnosis of either Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Stroke or acquired Brain Injury.
Some of our children have sadly been told that they'll never meet developmental milestones and yet, with our support and rehabilitation therapy, they've taken their first steps, exceeded their life expectancy and developed communication skills!
Some of our adult's travel over 1hr30 to get to our Centre due to stretched NHS resources and a lack of provision particularly along the South Coast region. When asked why, one particular gentleman replied, "It keeps me able to walk". Very humbling words... making me realise just how much I take for granted at times.
So yes, if I can help to support the amazing work of my colleagues by raising funds and jumping out of a plane, I say it's the least I can do!
Family, friends and connections please help me to support this truly amazing Charity I have come to love by donating... ❤
