Story
In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the incredible challenge of running the London Marathon (for the fourth time!) in support of Winston’s Wish, a bereavement charity that helps children, young people, and families cope with the loss of a loved one. While I wasn’t directly supported by the charity, their mission is close to my heart. I lost my sister in 2008 when I was just 14, and navigating grief at such a young age while trying to live a “normal” teenage life was incredibly difficult. Accessing therapy at the time was a real struggle. I faced similar challenges again in 2017 when I suddenly lost my Grandad. These experiences have shown me how vital organisations like Winston’s Wish are in providing the right support at the right time.
Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference to children and families facing the hardest moments of their lives. Thank you for your support!
£8 could provide a set of crafts and activities, including all of the materials needed to make a memory jar which serve as a reminder of special memories shared with their loved one.
£12 could enable us to provide one child with a memory box that can be used to store treasured objects, helping them to remember their loved one in a way that is personal to them.
£26 Could cover the cost of an online information session led by a Winston's Wish bereavement support worker.
Whatever you can afford to give will make a big difference to grieving children, young people and their families. THANK YOU.
