Story
I am raising funds in memory of my dad Tony, who we lost to Pancreatic cancer in September 2014.
In 2015, we undertook a fundraising campaign (15in 15 - lets challenge cancer) in his memory and with the help and support of all our family and friends - We raised over £30,000 for Pancreatic cancer.
This for me culminated in ironman Barcelona (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run).
10 years on, Having struggled with my own physical and mental health over the past few years and hugely overweight, I decided to embark on a new challenge (Ironman Mallorca 70.3- 2025 - 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.3 mile run) to help regain my own fitness and better mental health, and in the process raise some more funds in memory of my wonderful Dad.
With time to myself at a premium, now having young babies in tow (Freddie 3 and Hattie 0) (now 5 + 2) - It's a big undertaking, despite my history with Ironman. I am literally starting from scratch and there's a huge mountain to climb. If you can spare anything to help with my fundraising efforts it would be hugely appreciated.
As I write this final paragraph I am 2 years down the line and 4 days away from the event. It has been a long old road but the journey has been so unbelievably rewarding. My mental and physical health are so much better as a result and my community, friends and family have pulled round me (as they did on 2015) to bolster me up and fill up my cup (both sponsorship and imaginary) I feel ready for the event and I know my dad is shining down and willing me on for this final push.
Thank you to everyone for the support, kind words and donations. It means the world!
