First Leg

Grange Car Park to Sutton Common Road ( 6-7 miles)

First part quiet residential through Butter Hill, then a lot of following the Wandle along pathways including the Community Park where we can sit for a moment, more Wandle paths, then Poulter Park, more following the Wandle North, St Helier Open Space, Rosehill and fairly busy along Reigate Road to A 24.

Drink breaks – coffee bars and supermarket at Rosehill but probably better to stop when we have momentum. Sutton Life Centre has a coffee bar.

Toilet breaks- Could pop into David Weir Centre or ask at a café. Could use Sutton Life Centre Library toilets.

Second leg

Sutton Life Centre to Dobbies Garden Centre. (6-7 miles)

Initially very urban until we get to Nonsuch Park. Nonsuch Park stretch of around ¾ mile followed by quiet leafy residential, Belmont, Downs Road, Oaks Park Golf course, Sutton Countryside walk (telegraph) track and Dobbies.

Drinks breaks Nonsuch Park and Oaks Park both have café’s which we pass right by.

Toilets; Nonsuch Park, Oaks Park and Dobbies (but this would involve a little walk to get to)

Third leg

Dobbies to Grange Car Park (4-5 miles)

Mixed Park land and quiet residential.

Quiet residential, Roundshaw Downs (great view), Playing fields alongside Mollison Drive, Plough Lane, side streets along the Wandle into Eastern section of Beddington Park. Walk through Beddington Park to Car Park and the Grange.

Drinks breaks Only opportunity would be a café opposite the Plough.

Toilets The Plough with permission. Kathy’s House near Bridges Lane.

There will be lots of toilet breaks, water/coffee breaks available.

Along the route will be a mixture of river, park and urban walking. This is an opportunity to see the real Sutton!
