Story
As many of you know, l've been putting in countless hours of training this summer in preparation for my next big race this November — Mallorca by UTMB (Serra de Tramuntana (SDT)).

Whilst I appreciate that I have already raised money for charity this year, people have kindly been asking me where they could sponsor me for this event. So, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to support a cause that's very close to my heart: Friends of the Animals.
We were blown away when Friends of the Animals reached out and offered support with our cat Rufus earlier on in the year, and now I want to give back. Running for this charity not only allows me to support their incredible work, but it also gives me that extra push of motivation when the going gets tough during the race. During my last 100 mile mountain race, the thing which kept me going when the race hadn't gone to plan and I thought I couldn't continue, was the people who had sponsored me and the charity incentive.
Knowing that every step I take is helping to make a difference for animals in need will keep me moving forward, even if the challenge seems insurmountable.
SDT falls into the 100 mile mountain category but is just shy of 100 miles at 146km, but is not to be underestimated with 6000m+ (20,000ft) of elevation. Before being taken over by the UTMB group this race was advertised as a Sky Race'. Sky Races involve steep ascents, technical descents, and rugged trails, making a distance like this even harder. The race also starts at 10pm, meaning I head directly into the night. The maximum time allowed is 33 hrs 30 mins, which means I could be running into the early hours/morning of the Sunday after starting 10pm Friday, chasing brutal cut off times.
I visit Mallorca for a week in October to tackle as much of the route and terrain I can in preparation for the race.

If you’re able, I’d be incredibly grateful for any support you can offer. Every donation goes directly to Friends of the Animals, helping them continue their vital work in rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for animals in need. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me!
