We are committed to creating a world where all children, regardless of circumstance, can lead a life of choice and opportunity. We educate with after-school programmes & high school support. We empower families through workshops & guidance. And we elevate through mentorship & experiences.

Story

On 4th May, I’m running the Worthing Half Marathon to raise £1,000 for The Fursa Trust — a small, grassroots charity making a huge difference in the lives of underserved children in Nairobi, Kenya.

I've recently joined Fursa’s Board of Trustees and am kicking things off by raising much-needed funds to support the children in Nairobi. I joined the Board because I could see the incredible potential this small charity has, and I wanted to help it grow.

Having worked in the international development sector for over a decade, I’ve seen first-hand how access to education and safe, supportive spaces can transform the lives of children in underserved communities. That’s what really drew me to Fursa — and why I’d be so grateful for your support.

'Fursa' means opportunity in Swahili — and that’s exactly what The Fursa Trust provides. Through after-school programmes, high school support, and family workshops, we help children gain the skills, confidence, and hope they need to build brighter futures.

The after-school club has been so well-loved by local children that Fursa is now building a Resource Centre — a larger, dedicated space to meet growing demand and support even more young people.

Take a look at this video showing the centre under construction — it’s set to open in June!

Because Fursa is so small, your donation will be truly transformative for the children.

Here’s what your support could do:

£15 could pay for 10 children to receive a daily snack for a month

£25 could pay for pencils, books and notepads for 20 children for a term

£40 could pay for 10 children to experience a trip outside the underserved neighbourhood

£80 could pay for a teacher for one month

Thank you so much! 💛
