Blackburn Youth Zone is a 21st century youth hub located at the heart of the town. Since opening in 2012, Blackburn Youth Zone has played a vital role in supporting young people and the community of Blackburn with Darwen, supporting over 14,000 young people of which 40% of members are from a BAME background, 14% have additional needs and 48% come from the top 10% most deprived areas in the country.

Story

In the last 12 months alone, Blackburn & Darwen youth zone have provided 32,568 free hot meals to young people with a cost of £113,988. Their goal is to raise £10,000 during the month of October through their "Paint the Town Orange" campaign.

As someone who is lives in Darwen, and a small business owner in the community. I want to try help this fantastic cause and rasie as much money and awareness. Darwen has a number of deprived areas, and this service helps young people across the community. It can be simply as small as providing a hot meal or develop a young persons skills and that giving them the opportunity to be involved in acitiives and learning that they could not access without this service.

So, to help raise some funds, my lovely friend (Katie) and I will be taking on a coast to coast distance cycle all in one day! This will be taking place at our local CrossFit gym on Friday 18th October. We anticpate this will take around 12 hours of graft. So, please make it worth all the pain and donate as much as you can.
