Story
I've decided to raise money for the Children's Burns Trust because the work they do means a lot to me, as a burn survivor myself. The support network they offer to the children and their families is so amazing and the awareness they spread is so important. My accident happened when I was in a baby walker, I reached for my bottle that my Nan was heating up with boiling water from the stove and it went all over me causing full thickness burns on my neck, chest and legs. There is a big campaign to ban baby walkers, you can see from the picture taken before my accident that ironically my face says it all! haha
I didn't know there were charities out there who could help me when I had my accident, so to help them carry on the work they do so that they can help even more people is something that would mean the world to me. Because of this, I want to dedicate my first half marathon to them. I recently got in touch with the charity and spoke with Jo and she's even put me in the right direction of how to seek help as an adult, for the first time in my life.
Please check out their info on prevention too, accidents happen but they're so avoidable when you just take those extra precautions! it's something everyone needs to know more about https://cbtrust.org.uk/
I'd be so grateful for anything you can spare to help reach my target, let's hope I'll cross that finish line!!
