Hello everyone, I’m Lottie Kerrigan, Owen’s sister.

I wanted to share Owen’s story and raise money for Brain Tumour Research following his devastating diagnosis earlier this year.

Owen has always been an active, friendly, caring and strong person. He loves spending time with his friends and family. He has also dedicated so much of his time to coaching and supporting primary school children to help develop their love for PE and sport.

On the 8th January 2026, Owen went to the gym with his friend when things suddenly changed very quickly. He experienced a severe migraine and became unconscious. We called 999 at around 9pm and the paramedics responded incredibly quickly. After carrying out checks, they felt it was safest for Owen to be taken to hospital due to the location of his pain.

By 11pm that same night, Owen had undergone a CT scan which revealed the devastating news that he had a brain tumour. To this day, we still do not know how long the tumour had been there, as Owen had not shown the typical symptoms.

Owen spent the night in Yeovil Hospital with his family by his side before being blue lighted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol the following day. On the 10th January, Owen underwent more than seven hours of brain surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible.

Thankfully, the surgeon was pleased with how the operation went and was able to successfully remove the tumour. However, we were later told the heartbreaking news that Owen’s cancer is incurable but manageable. Unfortunately, the cancerous cells will continue to grow back, meaning ongoing treatment is necessary.

Despite everything he has faced, Owen recovered incredibly quickly from surgery. Just five days after arriving at Southmead, he was back home resting and slowly regaining his strength, energy and personality.

Since then, Owen has completed a seven week course of radiotherapy, making daily trips to Bristol for treatment. On the 24th April, he proudly rang the bell to mark the completion of this stage of his journey.

Owen will now begin a year long course of oral chemotherapy to help manage his cancer. As a family, we know this is a long road ahead, but Owen has already shown everyone around him just how strong, resilient and inspiring he truly is.

Due to the type of cancer Owen has, he has sadly lost his driving licence and is no longer able to work, making this life changing diagnosis even more difficult.

As Owen’s sister, I wanted to organise an event that brings together everyone who loves and supports him, not only to raise money for the amazing work carried out by Brain Tumour Research, but also to celebrate Owen’s incredible strength and courage throughout everything he has endured.

We want to raise as much money as possible in the hope that one day a cure can be found for Owen and for so many other families facing this devastating diagnosis.
