Story
I am running the London Marathon 2027 on Sunday, 25 April 2027, for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd as part of the "TCS London Marathon 2027 - Team HOTGS".
This cause is very close to my heart. My dad spent his last few days at the hospice in 2019, following his 12-month battle with leukaemia. The care, compassion, and support shown to him and to our family meant so much to us, and I will always be grateful. The team went above and beyond to make those final days together as meaningful and memorable as possible.
Many people will remember my dad's love of running and may have seen us out running together. He ran the London Marathon at the age of 27, and I know he would be so proud of both of his girls for following in his footsteps (Linz in 2019 🙌 🥇).
Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to patients, but it costs £5.7million each year to run. Only 17% of funding comes from statutory sources, which means the remaining 83% has to be raised through fundraising, charity shops, a weekly lottery, and the generous support of the local community in Cheshire. That support makes an enormous difference to patients and families when they need it most.
I am aiming to raise £2,500 for this important cause, and I would be so grateful for any support you can give. Please consider donating to help me support the hospice and the compassionate care it provides to so many families.
