Story
Hello!
On September 27, I'll be running the Berlin Marathon for Alzheimer's Research UK!
Everyone who knows me knows that eventually committing to a marathon was inevitable, but when the opportunity to do that whilst also supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK, it made it even more motivating!
I have personally seen a number of friends and their families directly impacted by the effects of Alzheimer’s - the stressful visits to nursing homes, the emotional strain of not being able to take that trip down memory lane, and needing to remind their Grandma of their name. I truly hope that the money I raise means that I never have to experience this as directly.
I firmly believe that supporting those searching for new treatments and a cure, is of critical importance - and any donation you can give to finding this cure is graciously accepted.
I've been fortunate enough to run with friends in many cities during this training block - London, Edinburgh, Marseille, Las Vegas and more - and I cannot wait to experience my 42.2km lap of honour in Berlin. If I can make it to the start line injury-free, and also raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK, it will make this 18-week training programme particularly satisfying!
(I have run further than the Strava activites on my fundraising page suggest, and I can prove it here: https://strava.app.link/PVEcgXPBr5b)
