Story
I want to highlight what a wonderful place LOROS is, and to share some of the special memories of Gary's time there. I want other families to be supported like we were - and still are.

Gary was regularly wheeled outside on his bed to enjoy the sun and fresh air. He loved it when his "grand-dog" Luna visited.

Gary was able to accompany his daughter, Sarah, down the aisle for her and Daniel's wedding blessing by the Chaplain in the LOROS chapel.

Gary watched his beloved grandchildren hunt for Easter eggs in the lovely grounds of LOROS.

The catering staff set up the family room so we could enjoy a takeaway.

The Enablement Team at LOROS arranged for Gary to have a special wheelchair so that all 6'1 of him could be wheeled safely and comfortably round the grounds. It came home with him too.

The medical team managed Gary's medication so that he could come home, as was his wish.

Once Gary was home, he went to Day Therapy once a week. He was collected and dropped off at home by a volunteer driver. A highlight of Day Therapy is when Serge from Kasabian came to visit. Gary loved meeting the other patients, the delicious meals, the themed days (St George's Day, VE Day), the relaxing hand massages and listening to children from a local school singing "Here Comes The Sun". Day Therapy truly enhanced Gary's quality of life.
Thank you to everyone at LOROS for caring for Gary.
