Why I'm Taking the Leap

On 30th August 2026, I'll be taking on a tandem skydive at Beccles Airfield to raise money for Leeway, an incredible charity that supports adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Leeway has been providing life-changing support for over 50 years, offering refuge accommodation, independent domestic violence advocacy, community support, counselling and practical guidance to those rebuilding their lives after abuse. Every day, they help people find safety, regain their confidence and take the first steps towards a future free from fear.

Through my work as an investigator, I have seen first hand the impact domestic abuse can have on individuals and families. Their work makes a real difference, and that's why I wanted to support them through this challenge.

I've always wanted to do a skydive. For years it sat firmly on my bucket list, but it also became something much more personal. During my weight loss journey, where I lost 8½ stone, a skydive became a marker of progress. It wasn't the reason I lost the weight, but it became a powerful reminder of what I was working towards.

Now, that goal has become a reality.

This year also marks another milestone, as Taylor Investigations celebrates 10 years in business. Looking back over the last decade, I'm incredibly proud of what we've built, the people we've helped and the difference we've been able to make for our clients and our community. Taking on this skydive feels like a fitting way to celebrate that journey too, by giving something back to a charity whose work has such a profound impact on the lives of others.

So, on 30th August, I'll be stepping out of a perfectly good aeroplane to celebrate a few milestones: ticking off a lifelong ambition, marking an achievement that once felt out of reach, celebrating 10 years of Taylor Investigations, and, most importantly, raising money for a charity that changes lives every single day.
