I have decided to raise money for Abby's Heroes and Sophie’s Legacy so that families can continued to be supported when their child has been admitted to hospital and going through the worst time of their lives.

My son was very poorly last year with us spending a lot of time at Southampton and Portsmouth hospitals. The support we received in hospital was amazing, from consistent support from the family support workers, ensuring I was ok emotionally offering a shoulder to cry on and a very much needed hug but also helping financially with grants was incredible. Hospital food is expensive and not great to eat but knowing we could always have access to a hot meal was so nice, the weekly pizza deliveries were incredible and something to look forward to when in hospital. Snacks were always offered to parents and children and boxes when we were rushed in, for toiletries etc that we didn't have time to pack due to the urgency of getting to hospital was so helpful.

I want to pay back the support and ensure that these amazing charities can continue to give the support to children and families in their darkest moments.

If it wasn't for the support of Abbys Heroes and Sophie’s Legacy and the people volunteering for them, then I know that we would have struggled even more as being in your own room without contact from other people for weeks was incredibly hard. The support workers had the kindest of hearts, would make time for you and would do anything they could to help.

Oh yeah.......and I am absolutely terrified of heights and edges!!
