Story
To read a bit about my story:
Hi, I’m Charlotte or Lotti to lots of my friends and family. I’m a 4th-year medical student, a keen runner, and currently the Vice President of Lancaster University’s Running Club!
As I prepare for my final exams at medical school, I’ve decided to take on a series of challenges throughout the year to raise money and awareness for a cause that’s close to my heart, with the final challenge being the London Marathon on 26th April 2026.
Why? Because when do I ever make things easy for myself? 😂
But more seriously, I’m doing this for Barnardo’s, the charity that supported me when I was younger.
As a teenager, I was a young carer. Balancing responsibilities at home with school wasn’t easy, but Barnardo’s stepped in when I needed support. They gave me practical help, opened up opportunities, and helped me believe that pursuing medicine wasn’t just a dream - it was something I could actually do.
Barnardo’s continues to support vulnerable children and young people across the UK, including young carers and families going through difficult times. I want to give something back and help them continue their amazing work.
Any donation, big or small, really will make a difference. It’ll help Barnardo’s reach more children and young people who need support, just like I once did.
Thank you so much for reading, and for any support you’re able to give.💚🧸
