Story
Hello! Thank you for visiting my page and showing interest in supporting me to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now.
In March 2024, I was diagnosed with Grade 3 Invasive breast cancer. I am chuffed to share that I have had a complete successful response to chemotherapy treatment, bilateral mastectomy surgery, and reconstruction. I am currently taking targeted therapy trastuzumab (Herceptin) to block the HER2 protein and help prevent any further cancer cell growth and spread.
Throughout my diagnosis, my family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues have all been so supportive, as has the Breast Cancer Now charity. The charity has offered free support in the form of medical advice, counselling, and frequent Zoom calls on various different aspects of breast cancer including diet, exercise, sleep, and managing fear of recurrence. The Zoom sessions really helped keep me going on the right track as I was on—and continue to be on—a mission to arm myself with knowledge around cancer.
Breast Cancer Now also conducts research and one piece of research they are undertaking at the moment relates directly to the targeted therapy treatment I am currently taking. I would like to show my appreciation in all that the charity achieves by raising money to support all the fantastic work carried out by the charity and the brave individuals who volunteer to share their own experiences.
Myself and some friends will be making our own camp under the stars of the Lake District Buttermere skies on June 7th, 2025 with the rest of the Breast Cancer Now team and fellow fundraisers during "Night in the Wild 2025". Anything you could donate to this cause would be so very gratefully received and would help people like me come to terms with such a life-changing health diagnosis both physically and mentally.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving—they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Alternatively, if you see me you can just slide me some cash over and I'll pop it in the fund for you!
Thank you so very much for your support,
Charlotte/Charlie.
