I am supporting the Burns family and Charlie's Star charity to raise essential funds to support bereaved families who have lost a child.
When Charlie passed away the Burns family were gifted a break which was an essential part of their recovery. They look after families in the South West from Wiltshire right down to Cornwall.
See below for more information about this charity.
Charlie's Star has been established in memory of Charlie Burns, who passed away at just 10 years old in 2011 from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). The charity aims to create hope and smiles for bereaved families who live in the South West of England, that have lost a child under the age of 19, by providing them with a fully funded 7-day respite break in Cornwall.
Charlie's Star offer a safe bubble where families can ease some of the mental and physical emotions without causing any financial stress. Somewhere they can come and spend invaluable time together.
Each 7-day break provided by Charlies Star for a bereaved family costs £2000 (based on a family of 4, seasonal dependant). This includes all travel, accommodation, food and local excursions. By supporting Charlie's Star, you are helping to create hope and smiles for families who have faced the most heart-breaking tragedy of their lives. None of us can change what has happened, but together we can make their lives a little easier.
