Anyone who knows me well will know that balance, coordination and staying upright are not exactly my strongest qualities… which makes it particularly concerning that I’ve agreed to take part in a Dragon Boat Race for Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur (AWA)

After more than 17 years working for Home-Start, I can honestly say it’s a charity I absolutely love being part of. Every day I see the difference it makes to families who are struggling with things like mental health, isolation, financial pressure, domestic abuse, exhaustion and the general chaos that parenting can sometimes bring.

This year Home-Start AWA reached an incredible milestone - supporting our 10,000th child and family - and I’m very proud to be one of the people wobbling around in a large boat to help raise money so we can continue supporting even more local families.

My target is £1,000 - all of which will go towards helping families in our community get the support they need at the time they need it most.
